Mabuhay, Kadayawan and Diversigence, when practiced together, form the base of what it means to be a member of KVAC—The Kadayawan Valley Arts Community—because Diversigence is ultimately the art of living patiently and abundantly with one another among all our differences long enough to help our differences coalesce us into a greater whole than we would otherwise simply be as merely the sum of our parts, even as all our parts become greater than they once were as well.
We have written our Mabuhay Stories for all the lonely people out there who long to drink the wine of human kindness from the silver cup of life—even as they offer it freely to all their neighbors—simply because they do not wish to be lonely anymore.
These are stories about welcoming and belonging.
Stories about living long, abundant, prosperous lives among our neighbors, and among all the wonderfully different kinds of creatures we are.
Stories about building vibrant artistic communities around us with mercy.
Stories meant to be told—frequently—by and to and for the three-year-olds in all of us… by and to and for all of us who seek to become the Children of Mercy upon this Earth.
Stories meant to be illuminated by those who are willing to own a copy of each one and freely share their illustrative talents with other readers, listeners and curious bystanders along the way.
Indeed, these are stories for all of us to tell among all the people of this Earth—from three to one hundred and three years old—so that, by grace, we might conquer this world, and all the pentagons thereof, for good.
Not by force. Not by fear.
But by kindness.
By forgiveness.
By songs.
By the art of telling all our stories well.
With neighborly acts of mercy wherever we may go.
Ultimately, so that we might all learn how to live together in peace… 4EVER!
These are stories about:
Many Gifts. Many People. Many Creatures.
And One Celebration with One Purpose:
To Help Mercy Abound.
Right on the streets where we live.
